Editorial Policy & Fact-Checking
Money content can change lives, so we hold ourselves to a high standard. This policy explains how we work.
Our principles
- Accuracy first. Claims about rules, limits, fees and rates are checked against primary sources — regulators, government agencies, statutes and official product documents.
- Balance. We explain trade-offs and who a product or strategy is not right for.
- Clarity. Plain English, worked examples and defined terms.
- Global awareness. We flag where rules differ by country rather than assuming one market.
- No hype. We never promise returns or use fear to sell.
Our process
- Research using primary sources and established financial principles.
- Drafting by our editorial team. We may use software tools, including AI writing assistants, to help research, outline and draft; they never replace human editorial judgment.
- Fact-check of every figure, threshold and worked example; calculations are re-run independently.
- Editing for clarity, balance and compliance with this policy.
- Review & updates — guides are reviewed at least annually and whenever rules change. Each page shows its last-updated date.
Calculator methodology
Every calculator page explains its formula and assumptions. Results are estimates based on constant rates and the inputs you provide; they are not predictions or guarantees.
Advertising and editorial separation
Advertising (including Google AdSense), sponsorships and referral relationships are managed separately from editorial. Sponsored content is labelled "Sponsored". Ads are labelled "Advertisement". Partners cannot review or approve editorial content before publication.
Corrections
If you spot an error, tell us via our contact page (topic: "Correction"). We review every report, correct confirmed errors promptly and note significant corrections on the page.
Not personal advice
Our content is educational and general. It does not account for your personal circumstances and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed professional.
